Our client:

●An expanding supermarket chain in Western China.  Due to business needs, they now have a new opening for Product Category Manager to be based in Chongqing.

Main Responsibilities:

●Acts in accordance with the General Purchase Principles and company’s guidelines and suggests items to be added or to be dropped as well as any modification of items in the respective category in charge.

●Supplier management –  negotiates all purchasing conditions like purchasing prices, payment terms and other relevant terms & conditions like minimum order quantities.

●Manage new purchasing contracts, renewal or cessation when contracts end

●Performs quality tests and internal tastings for the items in his category, especially before selecting a new item for the assortment

●Performs and follows up on quality checks on each item with external laboratories.

●Development of Private Labels, according to company’s requirements

●Selection of manufacturers for the production of Private Labels.

●Display great teamwork and work with all departments in collaboration in each subject, in order to achieve the best results for the company.

Required:

●Possesses at least a good university degree

●Candidates with Masters qualification will have a strong advantage

●At least 5 years of category management experience in Chongqing

●Prior experience managing private labels will have a strong advantage

●Highly energetic and can-do attitude

●Candidates with experience in startups or setting up will have a strong advantage

●Excellent leadership, interpersonal skills and communication skills

●Effectively bilingual in Mandarin and English

●Proficiency in Excel and Word
